Magna International is a leading global automotive supplier with thousands of employees all over the world. In North America, Magna chose to invest in their employees’ health and well-being by adding Best Doctors services to their group benefits plan.

Clazina, a long-time employee of Magna, decided to make the call to Best Doctors after suffering for years from a severe back injury, caused during a commuter train accident. For a year she tried rehabilitation, diet, exercise, swimming and physiotherapy, but nothing helped her pain. Surgery was her final option at that time. It was during the procedure that her orthopaedic surgeon discovered the true severity of her injury – a shattered disc. Years later, Clazina re-injured her back while on a truck excursion in the Dominican Republic. Immediately upon her return to Canada, she saw a neurosurgeon who told her he could operate but was reluctant to do a second back surgery. Clazina called Best Doctors and soon after, she received a written report. It advised her that she is a candidate for surgery, but gave her other alternatives to try and recommended a drug to help with her pain.
