Misdiagnosis on rare heart effect

Michael was born a healthy baby, but within weeks, he had problems with feeding and pain. A doctor’s visit brought difficult news– Michael had a congenital heart defect and a limited life expectancy. Two years later, Michael was in hospice.

Then, a co-worker told Michael’s mum about a new employee benefit – Best Doctors. Michael’s case was reviewed by a Best Doctors expert, the Chief of Cardiac Surgery at Boston Children’s Hospital. The doctor was one of the few surgeons in the world with experience with Michael’s condition.

The expert explained how Michael’s life could be saved and offered to perform the life-saving surgery himself. Today, Michael is an energetic boy whose family is forever grateful to the Best Doctors specialist:  “Before Best Doctors, we had no hope. The Best Doctors expert gave us our child back.”
