Best Doctors is a benefit provided by companies as part of their employee benefits package. It is also offered by health plans as a policyholder benefit.
What is Best Doctors and what services does Best Doctors provide?
We bring together the best medical minds in the world to help people get the right diagnosis and treatment.
Why do organizations offer Best Doctors?
Because they recognize the challenges and stresses that can occur when someone is uncertain about a medical diagnosis or treatment plan. Best Doctors helps people make medical decisions with confidence and ensures that they are getting the right care. It supplements the work of the member’s own doctor(s) and does not replace it.
With Best Doctors, members can be sure their diagnoses and treatment plans are right – and they can be confident they’re making the right decisions about their health.
How does Best Doctors maintain member privacy?
Who are the experts who review cases?
Best Doctors conducts an ongoing poll of physicians to identify the highest quality providers. It is the largest, ongoing peer survey in the medical industry and the only Gallup-certified polling process of its kind. Specialists are typically affiliated with world-renowned hospitals throughout the world. For each case, Best Doctors identifies the expert(s) from the network best qualified to work on the member’s case. Further, Best Doctors is never constrained by a set “panel” of doctors. Doctors cannot pay to be included on the Best Doctors list or nominate themselves for consideration. At present, the Best Doctors database includes over 50,000 physicians worldwide representing more than 450 medical specialties and subspecialties.
