Best Doctors helps people make medical decisions with confidence and ensures that they are getting the right care. It supplements the work of the member’s own doctor(s) and does not replace it. As a result of our services, employers/associations are able to cut costs, be competitive in the marketplace, add value and be an employer/association of choice.

Best Doctors complies with all relevant provincial, national and international laws and regulations, including the PIPEDA. Unless required by law, your specific name and medical information will NOT be shared with anyone, including your employer/association and insurance company, without your written consent. On occasion, we may use de-identified information to help us improve the Best Doctors program.

Best Doctors, Inc. conducts the largest, ongoing peer-to-peer poll of the physician community to populate and refresh its proprietary physician database. Voting physicians are asked, “If you or a loved one needed a physician in your specialty, to whom would you refer?” Physicians have a unique, professional perspective about who’s at the top of their profession, who’s up on the latest advances in their field, and therefore, where they personally would turn for state-of-the-art care when faced with a serious medical problem.

For each member case, Best Doctors identifies the best qualified physician expert(s) from their proprietary, global database of peer-selected expert physicians.

Best Doctors, Inc. never takes compensation of any kind from physicians or hospitals in return for listing physicians in the database, nor does Best Doctors pay physicians to participate in the poll. Physicians cannot nominate or vote for themselves for consideration in the poll. The Best Doctors global database includes more than 50,000 physicians in more than 450 medical specialties and subspecialties, all selected via the Best Doctors poll. Both Medical Doctors and Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine are eligible for inclusion.
